Duration : 19:44     Year : 1987     Code No. 202

SOURCES OF KNOWLED deals with various sources from which we gather information and knowledge. People have constantly been in quest for knowledge. It is this quest that opened to them the door to new concepts and finally a newer world. But where do this knowledge come from? Tradition and Authority, Consensus … Each source has been dealt with briefly and explained as to how knowledge is gathered from it.

Scientific Knowledge

Duration : 18:12     Year : 1987     Code No. 204

Indian students are often enrolled in science courses without any initiation whatsoever. They are not told what to expect from science studies or how much studies are usually conducted.
In other words, the 'learners' readiness is completely ignored. So a science course - which otherwise would have become an interesting venture in observation, record, rationalization and logic - degenerates into unimaginative and stultifying exercises. This programme hopes to remedy such conventional pedagogy and aims at preparing the ground before seed is sown.

Scientific Methods

Duration : 18:00     Year : 1987     Code No. 205

This programme deals with actual methods of observation, description, classification, experimentation, measurement and repetition. Each of these methods of study or gathering information is analysed and the method examined.
